“For this is good and pleasing in the eyes of our Saviour God, whose will it is that all men should be saved, and come into full knowledge of the truth.” 1 Timothy 2:3-4 MNT

Salvation is not just an instant spiritual experience but a lifelong spiritual journey culminating in Christlikeness and a blissful eternity with God in heaven.

God’s ultimate purpose for you here on earth is to grow up in every aspect to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ (Eph. 4:13, Rom. 8:29). And at the end of your pilgrimage on earth, God desires that you enjoy eternity with Him in heaven (John 14:2-3, 1 Thess. 4:16-17).

You have started a lifelong spiritual journey into God’s eternal purposes from the moment you are born again. However, your experiences in your salvation journey primarily depend on your revelation knowledge of the truths about your new spiritual condition, position, inheritance, privileges, and responsibilities in Christ.

By His death on the cross, the Lord Jesus has broken and destroyed the devil’s power over humankind (Col. 2:13-15, Heb. 2:14-15).

Not only did the Lord Jesus defeat the devil and disarm principalities and powers, but He also invested everyone who believes in Him with His authority and power to enforce and demonstrate His victory over the devil and his works.

So, if Christ has won the victory for us and given us the authority over the devil, why are many believers today not experiencing the victory Christ gave them and exercising the authority Christ gave them over the devil?

Lack of precise, accurate, and complete knowledge of the truth!

Although born again, you may not enjoy the victory and authority of Christ if you refuse to grow in the knowledge of the truth.

Acknowledging and confessing Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour is not enough. You must seek to “grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” (2 Peter 3:18 NKJV).

After experiencing the New Birth, you must embark on a spiritual journey into a precise, accurate, and complete knowledge of the truth about your new spiritual experience, condition, status, or position in Christ and its attendant privileges, rights, responsibilities, benefits, and blessings.

After experiencing the New Birth, if you fail to press forward to grow in the grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ and thus come into the full knowledge of the truth, the devil will exploit your spiritual ignorance to continue to torment, oppress, and afflict you.

Nothing sets free in life as knowing the truth, believing the truth, and acting on the truth you know and believe.

The Lord Jesus said to the Jews who had believed in him, “If you continue in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.” (John 8:31-32 RSV).

Therefore, after being born-again, God wants you to press forward until you fully know the truth of who you are now in Christ, what you have in Christ, and what Christ has already accomplished for you by His death and resurrection.

Paul writes, For this is good and pleasing in the eyes of our Saviour God, whose will it is that all men should be saved, and come into full knowledge of the truth.” (1 Tim. 2:3-4 MNT).

It takes much more than an occasional hearing, reading, studying, or meditating in God’s Word to know the truth that will free you in every aspect of your life.

Friend, you cannot come to a precise, accurate, and complete knowledge of the truth without a good and solid plan to diligently and prayerfully listen to, read, study, and meditate on God’s Word daily.

This certainly requires determination, diligence, and discipline. However, whatever it costs you to know the truth is nothing compared to what your spiritual ignorance will eventually cost you!

Therefore, this New Year, sit down and make a solid plan on how to read, listen to, study, imbibe, and meditate in God’s Word consistently to grow in the grace and knowledge of the truth that will make you free and stay free in every sphere of your life.

Prayer:

This New Year, Holy Spirit, guide me into fully knowing my new spiritual condition, position, inheritance, privileges, and responsibilities in Christ, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
