YOU KNOW ALL THINGS IN CHRIST (Part 1)
“But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you know all things.” (1 John 2:20 NKJV)
When simply put, the new or spiritual birth experience is putting off the old man and putting on the new man by the supernatural operation of the Holy Spirit. The new birth is an instant, radical, and total inward spiritual change or transformation.
Paul asserts this truth in his epistle.
Colossians 3:9-10 – NKJV
9 Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds,
10 and have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him.
The result of the new or spiritual birth experience is not an old but modified, rehabilitated, or cultivated person, but an entirely new spiritual person.
The Holy Spirit changed you wholly and instantly to an entirely new man, person, or creation the moment you truly believed, received, and confessed Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour.
2 Corinthians 5:17 – NKJV
17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.
You did not become an entirely new person in your body the moment you became born-again. Your body’s size, weight, color, or type remained the same after you experienced the new birth.
Similarly, the new birth experience did not give you a new soul. Your mind, intellect, knowledge, memory, and emotions remained the same after you experienced the new birth.
However, your spirit never remained the same after the new birth experience. As a result of the new or spiritual birth experience, you became a new creation or person, not in your soul or body, but your heart or spirit.
At the new birth, you put off the old man or self, and you put on the new man or self in your heart by the supernatural operation of the Holy Spirit. All that is left for you to do is to begin to put off the mindsets, imprints, or deposits of the old man left behind in your will, mind, and emotions.
Your spirit is a new person or creation in Christ, but not yet your soul and body!
The complete transformation, redemption, or salvation of your soul and body will occur at the second physical return of Jesus Christ. A perfect soul and glorious body are part of your inheritance in Christ (Rom. 8:23, 2 Cor. 5:1-5, 1 John 3:1-3).
Apostle Paul amply explains this truth in his epistles.
1 Corinthians 13:9-12 – NLT
9 Now our knowledge is partial and incomplete, and even the gifts of prophecy reveals only part of the whole picture.
10 But when the time of perfection comes, these partial things will become useless.
12 Now we see things imperfectly, like puzzling reflections in a mirror, but then we will see everything with perfect clarity. All that I know is partial and incomplete, but then I will know everything completely, just as God now knows me completely.
Philippians 3:20-21 – NKJV
20 For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ,
21 who will transform our lowly body that it may be conformed to His glorious body, according to the working by which He is able even to subdue all things to Himself.
While the Scripture amply teaches that the born-again believers have yet to obtain and experience the complete salvation Christ purchased for them with His blood in their souls and bodies, the Scripture clearly explains and affirms that the born-again believers have already obtained and experienced complete salvation in their spirits.
The salvation of your spirit was completed, finished, or perfected at the point of the new birth. You have put off the sinful nature in your spirit and have put on the holy and divine nature of God in your spirit at the instant you became born-again.
Your new spirit will not experience or undergo any transformation or change at the coming of Christ. You now have the perfect spirit you will have throughout eternity (Heb. 12:23, 1 John 4:17).
Your born-again spirit is identical to Christ. Everything true of Christ is now true of your born-again spirit. Your born-again spirit is one with Christ!
The Scripture amply affirms this pivotal truth!
1 Corinthians 6:17 – NKJV
17 But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him.
1 John 4:17 – NKJV
17 Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world.
As a born-again believer, while you don’t have perfect knowledge in your soul (that is, know or see everything in your mind with perfect clarity); however, you have a perfect knowledge in your new, born-again, or recreated spirit, which is completely identical to Jesus Christ.
Your born-again spirit (the new creation) knows everything thoroughly and sees everything with perfect clarity. The new creation (your born-again or recreated spirit) is not confused about anything, for he has the mind or understanding of Christ (1 Cor. 2:16).
Your born-again spirit can never be confused, perplexed, or bewildered by anything or about anything because he has the mind of Christ and anointing from God, and so he knows all things.
Sadly, many believers are ignorant of this marvelous truth.
The Scripture amply affirms this incredible truth!
1 John 2:20, 27 – NKJV
20 But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you know all things.
27 But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you will abide in Him.
1 Corinthians 2:16 – NKJV
16 For “who has known the mind of the LORD that he may instruct Him?” But we have the mind of Christ.
Colossians 3:10 – NKJV
10 And have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him.
Your old or unregenerate spirit was alienated from the life of God and thus spiritually dead and blind. When you were not in Christ, you were without the light of God (perfect spiritual knowledge and understanding). So, you walked about in the futility of your mind, having your understanding darkened, being alienated from God. (Eph. 4:18).
But now, in Christ, you are a partaker of the very life of God. Your born-again spirit now has the same life in God the Father and God the Son (John 5:21-26, 17:1-3, 1 John 5:10-13).
Therefore, you now have the light of God (perfect spiritual wisdom, knowledge, and understanding) in your spirit, for “In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.” (John 1:4 NKJV).
Beloved, the eternal life (the life of God) you received at the new birth is not the capacity to live forever, for even those without the life of God will live forever in hell fire. Instead, eternal life is the spiritual capacity to know God intimately.
Eternal life carries, supplies, imparts, and transmits to your heart the supernatural and perfect knowledge, understanding, and wisdom you need to live a victorious, triumphant and prosperous life in this evil, fallen, and dark world.
The Lord Jesus explains, “And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent. (John 17:3 NKJV).
John the beloved also explains, “And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us an understanding, that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life.” (1 John 5:20 NKJV).
Your born-again spirit was sealed, enveloped, or enwrapped by the Holy Spirit (Eph. 1:13).
Therefore, your born-again spirit receives and enjoys a constant supply or transmission of pure and perfect revelation knowledge directly from the Holy Spirit. So, your spirit always knows all things.
The Scripture affirms this wonderful truth!
1 Corinthians 2:9-12 – NKJV
9 But as it is written: Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”
10 But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God.
11 For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God.
12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.
Suppose it is true that the born-again believers always have perfect and divine knowledge, understanding, and wisdom in their born-again spirits. Why then are many believers today still confused, perplexed, and bewildered in life?
It is because they don’t know how to draw from, appropriate, and utilize the hidden treasures of supernatural knowledge, understanding, and wisdom in their born-again spirits!
How can you begin to draw from, appropriate, and utilize the wealth of supernatural knowledge, understanding, and wisdom available in your born-again spirit?

Prayer: My Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for the wealth of supernatural knowledge, understanding, and wisdom in my born-again spirit. My Dear Holy Spirit, teach me how to constantly draw from, appropriate, and utilize these resources to live a victorious, triumphant and prosperous life in this evil world, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
