COME INTO FULL KNOWLEDGE OF THE TRUTH

by Feb 18, 2021February

“For this is good and pleasing in the eyes of our Saviour God, whose will it is that all men should be saved, and come into full knowledge of the truth.” (1 Timothy 2:3-4 MNT)

Salvation is not just an instant spiritual experience; it is a lifelong spiritual journey culminating in Christlikeness here on earth and in a blissful eternity with God in heaven.

God’s ultimate purpose for you here on earth is to grow up in every aspect to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ (Eph. 4:13, Rom. 8:29). And at the end of your pilgrimage on earth, God desires that you enjoy eternity with Him in heaven (John 14:2-3, 1 Thess. 4:16-17).

From the moment you became born again, you have started a lifelong spiritual journey into God’s eternal purposes for you.

Your experiences in your salvation journey primarily depend on your revelation knowledge of the truths about your new spiritual condition, position, inheritance, privileges and responsibilities in Christ.

By His death on the cross the Lord Jesus has broken and destroyed the power of the devil over mankind.

The Scripture clearly states this truth.

Hebrews 2:14-15 – NKJV

14 Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil,

15 and release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

Colossians 2:13-15 – NKJV

13 And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses,

14 having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross.

15 Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.

However, it is only those who are spiritually united with Christ in His death and resurrection through the New Birth experience that can appropriate, enforce or demonstrate the victory that Christ has won for mankind through His death on the cross and His resurrection from the dead.

Not only did the Lord Jesus defeat the devil and disarm principalities and powers, He has also invested everyone who believes in Him with His authority and power to enforce and demonstrate His victory over the devil and his works.

The Lord Jesus said to His disciples.

Luke 10:18-19 – NKJV

18 “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.

19 “Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

So, if Christ has won the victory for us and has also given us the authority over the devil, why then are many believers today not experiencing the victory Christ won for them and exercising the authority Christ gave them over the devil?

Lack of precise, accurate, and full knowledge of the truth!

Although born again, yet you may not enjoy the victory and authority of Christ if you refuse to grow in the knowledge of the truth (Hos. 4:6).

It is not enough to just acknowledge and confess Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour, you must seek to “grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” (2 Peter 3:18 NKJV).

After experiencing the New Birth, you must embark on a spiritual journey into precise, accurate and full knowledge of the truth about your new spiritual experience, condition, status or position in Christ and its attendant privileges, rights, responsibilities, benefits and blessings.

After experiencing the New Birth, if you fail to press forward to grow in the grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ and thus come into the full knowledge of the truth, the devil will exploit your spiritual ignorance to continue to torment, oppress and afflict you.

Nothing sets free in life as knowing the truth, believing the truth, and acting on the truth you know and believe.

Therefore, after being born-again God wants you to press forward until you come into full knowledge of the truth of who you are now in Christ, what you now have in Christ, and what Christ has already accomplished for you by His death and resurrection.

Apostle Paul clearly presents this truth.

1 Timothy 2:3-4 – MNT

3 For this is good and pleasing in the eyes of our Saviour God,

4 whose will it is that all men should be saved, and come into full knowledge of the truth.

The Lord Jesus sent the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of truth, to guide you into all truth, not just into some truths.

John 16:13-14 – NKJV

13 “However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.

14 “He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you.

What many believers today who are being exploited, defrauded and manipulated by false ministers under the pretence of ministering deliverance to them actually need is the revelation knowledge of the truth about who they are in Christ, what they have in Christ, and what Christ has already accomplished for them through His death and resurrection.

Regrettably, many believers today are too slothful to pursue the knowledge of the truth.

How do you know the truth or come into the full knowledge of the truth?

The Lord Jesus said to the Jews who had believed in him, “If you continue in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.” (John 8:31-32 RSV).

“I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” (John 14:6 NKJV).

It takes much more than an occasional hearing, reading, studying, or meditating in God’s Word to come into the knowledge of the truth that will make you free in every aspect of your life.

You cannot come into a precise, accurate and full knowledge of the truth without a good and solid plan to diligently and prayerfully listen to, read, study and meditate in God’s Word daily.

This certainly requires determination, diligent and discipline!

Whatever it costs you to know the truth is nothing in comparison with what your spiritual ignorance will eventually cost you!

Beloved, why would you want the devil and his false prophets to continue to exploit your ignorance of the truth of your true spiritual condition, position, inheritances and privileges in Christ?

Enough of patronizing commercial ministers!

Sit down and make a solid plan on how to read, listen to, study, imbibe, and meditate in God’s Word consistently, and thus begin to grow in the grace and knowledge of the truth that will make you free and stay free in every sphere of your life  (Jam. 1:25).

However, while pursuing the knowledge of the truth, don’t forget that the truth is not a mere verified fact, but a Divine Person, the Lord Jesus Christ.

So, it is not a mere mental assent or acquisition of the knowledge of the letters of the Bible that you need, but revelation knowledge of the spirit of the Bible, “for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.” (2 Cor. 3:6 NKJV).

So, knowing the truth is not just about reading and studying the Bible, but about knowing the Lord Jesus Christ increasingly. This is eternal life!

The Lord Jesus said, “And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.” (John 17:3 NKJV).

John the Beloved also writes, “And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us an understanding, that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life.” (1 John 5:20 NKJV).

Prayer: My Dear Lord Jesus Christ, thank You for the victory You won for me and the authority You gave me over all the power of the enemy. My Dear Holy Spirit, guide me into the full knowledge of the truth about my new spiritual condition, position, inheritance, privileges and responsibilities in Christ, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
