SEE, TAKE, AND APPLY THE HEALING TREE
“So he cried out to the LORD, and the LORD showed him a tree. When he cast it into the waters, the waters were made sweet. There He made a statute and an ordinance for them. And there He tested them.” (Exodus 15:25 NKJV)
On their way to the Promised Land, the children of Israel went three days in the wilderness and found no water until they came to Marah. Although they found water at Marah, yet they could not drink the waters because the waters of Marah were bitter.
Therefore, the thirsty children of Israel became very bitter and upset and cried out against Moses, saying, “What shall we drink?” (Exo. 15:24 NKJV). However, Moses cried out to God for divine help, intervention, and solution.
In response to Moses’ supplication, God showed him a tree and instructed him to cast it into the waters. When he did, the bitter waters of Marah were healed, changed, or transformed into sweet waters for the upset people to drink to their satisfaction. Hallelujah!
As a result of the first man’s sin (Adam), the world today is full of bitter waters. It is, therefore, nothing strange, peculiar, or unusual for anyone in life to come to “Marah” (bitter waters) and so experience sadness, bitterness, betrayal, disappointment, hatred, pains, sickness, or tribulation.
However, no bitter water in life cannot be healed, changed, or transformed into sweet water.
How can you heal your bitter water?
Simply bring “the Healing Tree” into it!
You cannot experience divine healing, change, or transformation of your bitter waters into sweet waters if all you do at your “Marah” is get angry, bitter, complain, or cry out against someone you hold responsible for your bitter experience in life.
Sadly, many people today, like the children of Israel, only weep, murmur, complain, get upset, bitter, and seek someone to blame for bringing them to “Marah” (bitter waters). This is why many people today are still stuck in their bitter waters.
The first right thing to do when you come to your “Marah” (bitter waters) in life is to cry out or pray to God in faith, just as Moses did.
The Scripture admonishes, “If any of you is in trouble, let him pray…” (Jam. 5:13 TCNT).
When you choose to pray to God rather than to become bitter at your bitter waters, your mind or attention will be focused on God, and you will therefore become more sensitive and receptive to God’s voice.
When Moses cried out to God at Marah and thus shifted his focus and attention from the bitter waters and the bitter people to the loving and sweet God, his eyes were opened to see “the Healing Tree” which God had graciously provided for the healing and transformation of the bitter waters of Marah into sweet waters.
Exodus 15:23-25 – NKJV
23 Now when they came to Marah, they could not drink the waters of Marah, for they were bitter. Therefore the name of it was called Marah.
24 And the people complained against Moses, saying, “What shall we drink?”
25 So he cried out to the LORD, and the LORD showed him a tree. When he cast it into the waters, the waters were made sweet. There He made a statute and an ordinance for them. And there He tested them.
When you also choose not to be bitter at your bitter waters but rather to pray to your sweet and loving God, just like God showed “the Healing Tree” to Moses when he chose not to be bitter at the bitter waters of Marah but rather to pray to His sweet and loving God, God will also show you “the Healing Tree” that will supernaturally heal, change or transform your bitter waters into sweet waters.
What is the “Healing Tree” that God is showing today to all those who cry out to Him at their bitter waters?
The revelation of Jesus Christ and His finished work!
On the cross, the Lord Jesus bore in His body our sins, curses, sorrows, pains, infirmities, sicknesses, or diseases so that we may freely and abundantly receive forgiveness, redemption, blessing, peace, healing, and good health.
The Scripture clearly states that Jesus Christ “Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness–by whose stripes you were healed.” (1 Pet. 2:24 NKJV).
Isaiah 53:4-5 – NKJV
4 Surely He has borne our griefs And carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted.
5 But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.
Matthew 8:16-17 – NKJV
16 When evening had come, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed. And He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick,
17 that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying: “He Himself took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses.”
Galatians 3:13-14 – NKJV
13 Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”),
14 that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
Therefore, when you cry out to God for supernatural healing, change or transformation in your spirit, soul, and body, or your relationship or situation, or in your family and finances, God will always show or give you the revelation of what Jesus Christ has already done for you by His substitutionary death on the cross.
However, the transformation you will experience depends on what you do with the revelation of Jesus that is given to you (2 Cor. 3:18).
Simply possessing mere intellectual knowledge or a mental picture of Jesus Christ on the cross will not heal, change, or transform your bitter waters into sweet waters. You need to have a personal and precise spiritual understanding, experiential or revelation knowledge of the person of Jesus Christ and His perfect and finished work.
Besides, you also need to put your full faith, trust, or confidence in the person and finished work of Jesus for you to begin to experience the supernatural healing and transformational power of the cross in your bitter waters.
1 Corinthians 1:18 – NKJV
18 For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
Beloved, just as Moses did when God showed him “the Healing Tree,” you also need to begin to take, apply or bring “the Healing Tree” into your bitter waters.
How do you do this?
By receiving, believing, confessing, and acting upon every revelation, the Holy Spirit gives or shows you about the person of Jesus Christ and His finished work for your salvation, healing, deliverance, victory, forgiveness, success, or prosperity (Rom. 10:8-10).
If you have truly seen that Jesus Christ was made a curse for you on the cross so that that blessing of Abraham might come upon you in Christ, then quit confessing being cursed or identifying with any curse in your family or city.
But instead, begin to see yourself blessed when you come in and when you go out, and start to confess that you are blessed regardless of what you see, feel or have in your pocket or bank account, and begin to expect tangible manifestations of God’s blessing upon the works of your hands, in your body, health, relationship, marriage, family, finances, business, career, or ministry.
Similarly, if you have seen or received the revelation of how Jesus took your infirmities and bore your sicknesses in His own body on the cross so that you might have healing in your body and walk in good health, then, begin to declare with boldness and confidence that you are already healed by the stripes of Jesus and start to act as one who is indeed healed despite the symptoms you may see or feel in your body.
That is taking, applying, and dipping “the Healing Tree” into your bitter waters to heal, change and transform them into sweet waters!
Friend, don’t just be pleased with seeing, hearing, or reading about the benefits or blessings of the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross (the Healing Tree); instead, begin to reach out in faith to take, appropriate, and experience them in your soul and body, and every sphere of your life.
Prayer: My Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for showing me “the Healing Tree” I need today to heal and transform my bitter waters into sweet waters. My Dear Holy Spirit, teach and help me daily to take and apply the Healing Tree (the revelation of the person and the finished work of Jesus) into my bitter waters to heal and transform them into sweet waters, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
The Cross is the solution. Thank you Jesus.
