YOU KNOW ALL THINGS IN CHRIST (Part 2)
“Do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may discern what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God.” (Romans 12:2 HCSB)
At the new or spiritual birth, the born-again believer put off the old man who was spiritually dead and blind, and “put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him.” (Col. 3:9 NKJV).
The new man or creation is completely identical to Jesus Christ. Everything that is true of Christ is also true of the new man or creation (1 Cor. 6:17, 1 John 4:17).
The new man has the mind of Christ, thereby having all the treasures of supernatural knowledge, understanding and wisdom hidden in him (Col. 2:3).
The new man or creation also has the Life of God, thereby possessing the light of God (pure and perfect spiritual knowledge, understanding and wisdom), for the Life of God is the light of men (John 1:4).
Likewise, the new man or creation has the Spirit of God enveloping him, thereby receiving and enjoying constant transmission of pure revelation knowledge directly from the Holy Spirit.
Therefore, the new man or creation can never be confused, perplexed, or bewildered by anything or about anything in life (1 Cor. 2:12, Eph. 1:13).
These awesome truths are aptly presented and explained in the first part of this piece.
But why are many believers today still confused, perplexed and bewildered in life in spite of having all the treasures of supernatural knowledge, understanding and wisdom within them – in their born-again spirits?
It is simply because they are not drawing from, appropriating or utilizing the pure and perfect knowledge, understanding and wisdom which are available to them in their born-again spirits!
How then can you begin to draw from, appropriate and utilize the wealth of supernatural knowledge, understanding and wisdom available to you in your born-again or recreated spirit?
First, by acknowledging every good thing which is in you in Christ:
When you became born-again through faith in Christ Jesus, you became an heir of God and a joint heir with Christ. All that God has now belong to you. All that belongs to Christ now belong to you as well (Rom 8:16-17, Gal. 4:6-7).
Apostle Paul clearly states this truth.
1 Corinthians 3:21-23 – NKJV
21 Therefore let no one boast in men. For all things are yours:
22 whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas, or the world or life or death, or things present or things to come–all are yours.
23 And you are Christ’s, and Christ is God’s.
Although all things are yours in Christ, yet you may not enjoy and experience them if you fail to acknowledge, recognize, understand and believe that all the things which are yours in Christ are now available to you in your born-again spirit.
Your inheritance in Christ is not somewhere out there in heaven; it is right inside you. Your born-again spirit has all that God has given you.
This is a pivotal truth!
Paul prayed for the eyes of understanding of the believers in Ephesus to be enlightened so that they may realize that God’s inheritance is in them.
We need to pray the same prayer today for many ignorant believers who still think that their blessings or inheritances in Christ are still somewhere out there in the heavens and so need to be brought down to them by many days of fasting and prayers or by “fire and force.”
Ephesians 1:15-20 – RSV
15 For this reason, because I have heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love toward all the saints,
16 I do not cease to give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers,
17 that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of him,
18 having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints,
19 and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power in us who believe, according to the working of his great might
20 which he accomplished in Christ when he raised him from the dead and made him sit at his right hand in the heavenly places.
The first right step towards drawing from and enjoying the wealth of divine knowledge, understanding and wisdom is to acknowledge, realize or understand that it is not outside of you, but inside of you and so readily available to you at all times.
Philemon 1:4-6 – NKJV
4 I thank my God, making mention of you always in my prayers,
5 hearing of your love and faith which you have toward the Lord Jesus and toward all the saints,
6 that the sharing of your faith may become effective by the acknowledgment of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus.
The Greek word translated “acknowledgement” in this scripture is “epignosis.” This refers to “precise and correct knowledge.”
The truth is that you cannot enjoy any of the good things that are in you in Christ Jesus without you having a precise and correct knowledge of them.
Therefore, not only must you know that you now have in your born-again spirit the Mind of Christ, the Life of God and the Spirit of God, you must also seek to know what the Scripture teaches about them so as to have a precise and correct knowledge of them.
Many believers today are not tapping or drawing from the Mind of Christ, the Life of God and the Spirit of God in them because of their slothfulness in the study of God’s Word.
It is through this precise and correct knowledge that you can begin to tap, draw from, appropriate and enjoy every good thing which is in your spirit in Christ Jesus.
Peter affirms this truth.
2 Peter 1:2-3 – KJV
2 Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,
3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue.
You will increasingly draw from and enjoy every good thing which is in you in Christ as you grow in the knowledge of God and of Jesus Christ your Lord and Saviour.
The more you know and see Christ Jesus in the mirror of God’s Word, the more you will have a precise and correct knowledge of who you are and what you have in your born-again spirit which is completely identical to Christ, and the more you will draw by faith from the divine treasures or resources within you.
Second, by renewing your mind:
The result or product of the new birth is a new man or creation “who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him.” (Col. 3:9 NKJV).
Not only did you receive at the new birth a new spirit who is renewed in knowledge after the image of Christ, you also received the Mind of Christ and an anointing from God to know all things.
The Scripture amply testifies to this truth.
1 Corinthians 2:16 – NKJV
16 For “who has known the mind of the LORD that he may instruct Him?” But we have the mind of Christ.
1 John 2:20 – NKJV
20 But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you know all things.
1 John 2:27 – NKJV
27 But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you will abide in Him.
While you know all things in your born-again spirit which has the Mind of Christ and an anointing from God; however, you don’t know all things in your physical mind or brain.
Pure and perfect knowledge, understanding and wisdom reside in your spirit and not in your soul or mind. Therefore, though you may be confused, perplexed or bewildered about something in your mind, your spirit knows and sees everything with perfect clarity.
How then do you transfer the pure and perfect knowledge, understanding and wisdom in your born-again spirit to your soul or mind?
Simply be renewing your mind with the truths of God’s Word!
Romans 12:1-2 – HCSB
1 Therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, I urge you to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God; this is your spiritual worship.
2 Do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may discern what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God.
Without renewing your mind or thinking according to the truths of God’s Word, you will not be able to tap and draw from the Mind of Christ and the anointing in your spirit and so you will not be able to know, discern, or understand God’s perfect plan, will and purpose for your life.
This is the primary cause of the ignorance and confusion of many believers today!
When reading, studying, or listening to God’s Word, you are not educating or training your born-again spirit in God’s Word. Rather, you are educating or training your physical mind in God’s Word so it can be renewed, reset or reprogrammed according to the truths of God’s Word which are already known or revealed to your born-again spirit.
God’s Word is already written in your born-again spirit, “who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him.” (Col. 3:9 NKJV).
You born-again spirit has the Mind of Christ and an anointing from God, and so your spirit knows all things (1 Cor. 2:16, 1 John 2:20, 27, Heb. 8:10).
It is your physical mind or brain which does not know all things that needs to be educated or trained in the truths of God’s Word.
As you diligently read, study, imbibe and meditate in God’s Word, your mind or thinking is renewed, and the revelation knowledge in your spirit is released, transferred or transmitted to your mind by the Holy Spirit.
Third, by praying in the Holy Spirit:
When you pray in the Holy Spirit, in unlearned tongues inspired and supplied by the Holy Spirit, it is your spirit that is praying and speaking mysteries or hidden secrets.
Apostle Paul clearly reveals this truth.
1 Corinthians 14:2, 14 – NKJV
2 For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands him; however, in the spirit he speaks mysteries.
14 For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my understanding is unfruitful.
How do you tap or draw from the treasures of pure and perfect knowledge, understanding and wisdom in your born-again spirit through praying in tongues?
By praying for the interpretation or understanding of the mysteries your spirit is speaking or bringing forth while praying in tongues!
Beloved, the truth is that most times the divine knowledge, understanding, or wisdom you are seeking for in the natural is released, spoken or brought forth when you pray in tongues, for it is your spirit who knows all things that is praying or speaking mysteries when you pray in tongues.
Therefore, Paul encourages you to pray that you may interpret so that you and others may understand and benefit from (the mysteries) the pure and perfect knowledge, understanding, and wisdom of God which are flowing out of your spirit when you are praying in tongues.
Paul encourages, “Therefore let him who speaks in a tongue pray that he may interpret.” (1 Cor. 14:13 NKJV).
Prayer: My Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for giving me the Mind of Christ and an anointing to know all things. My Dear Holy Spirit, teach and help me daily to draw from and utilize these divine resources for your glory, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
