CRUCIFIED, RESURRECTED, AND ASCENDED WITH CHRIST
“I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.” (Galatians 2:20 NKJV)
We might miss the ultimate purpose and blessing of Jesus Christ’s crucifixion, death, burial, resurrection and ascension if we remotely regard them only as a great historical event.
If all that we know and believe is that Christ died for our transgressions, rose up for our justification, and He is now seated at the right hand of God the Father making intercession for us, then we are too shallow in our spiritual understanding and revelation of the significance and implications of Jesus’ crucifixion, death, burial, resurrection and ascension.
From God’s viewpoint, Christ did not just die for our sins and then rose up for our justification, we also died and rose up with Him to walk in newness of life.
Paul clearly states this truth in his epistle to the Romans.
Romans 6:
4 Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
5 For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection. (NKJV).
As a born-again believer, God wants you to know, understand, believe and walk in the revelation knowledge that you were crucified, buried, and resurrected with Christ.
God placed you in Christ before the foundation of the world to share in Christ’s experiences, inheritances and victories.
Paul writes, “But God has given you a place in Christ Jesus, through whom God has given us wisdom and righteousness and salvation, and made us holy.” (1 Cor. 1:30 BBE).
Ephesians 1
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,
4 just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love. (NKJV).
Furthermore, God wants you to understand that not only were you crucified, buried and resurrected with Christ, but that you also ascended into the heavens with Christ and you are now presently seated in the heavenly in Christ Jesus, far above all principality, power and dominion (Eph. 1:21).
Paul reveals this truth in his epistle to the Ephesians.
Ephesians 2:
4 But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us,
5 even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),
6 and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,
7 that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. (NKJV).
Any believer who fails to accept, imbibe, believe or internalize the spiritual truth of his crucifixion, resurrection and ascension with Christ and of his present exalted position in the heavenly in Christ has settled for less than what God promised, planned, purposed or destined for him in Christ Jesus.
Many believers today gladly accept and believe that Christ died, rose up and ascended into heaven for them; however, only few believers truly believe, confess and act as one who died, rose up and ascended into heaven with Christ.
This is the primary cause of the defeat that many believers today are experiencing in their battles against sin, the flesh, the world and the devil.
As in a marriage relationship or union where two become one flesh, the believers are perfectly joined to Christ and have become one spirit with Christ.
Paul queries, “Or do you not know that he who is joined to a harlot is one body with her? For “the two,” He says, “shall become one flesh.” But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him.” (1 Cor. 6:16-17 NKJV).
While we might never comprehend fully the mystery of our spiritual union with Christ, or how God has placed us in Christ to share in His crucifixion, resurrection and ascension, it is however expected of us to receive, believe, internalize or appropriate this spiritual truth.
We shall not be able to express, manifest or demonstrate Christ-life in this world if we fail to embrace or identify with His experience – to see ourselves united together with Christ in the likeness of His death, of His resurrection, and of His ascension.
Beloved, spiritual understanding and application of the truth of your crucifixion, resurrection and ascension with Christ is very crucial to your Christian life.
It is the vital key to living a triumphant, overcoming, prosperous and fulfilling life in this fallen world. It takes the revelation knowledge of this truth for you to walk in the newness of life.

This is the major secret of Apostle Paul’s victorious life!
Paul testifies, “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.” (KJV).
Like Paul, if you truly know, understand, and believe that you have been crucified with Christ, you will quit striving or struggling to live for Christ, but rather, you will allow Christ to live or manifest His life in and through you.
Similarly, when you truly understand and believe that you are crucified with Christ, you will cease to live by your strength or wisdom, but by the faith of the Son of God.
Friend, it is time for you to begin to reckon yourself as one who is truly crucified, buried, resurrected, ascended with Christ, and seated with Christ in the heavenly realms.
Why not start today?
Prayer: My Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for placing me in Your Son, Jesus Christ, and for making me one with Him in His crucifixion, resurrection, and ascension. I declare today that I am one with Christ – dead, buried and raised together with Christ, and I am now seated together with Christ in the heavenly, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
