SCRIPTURAL TRUTHS ABOUT FORGIVENESS

SCRIPTURAL TRUTHS ABOUT FORGIVENESS

In this imperfect world it is not impossible for someone you love dearly to break your heart by his unfaithfulness to you, or for your best friend to betray your trust. People you hold in high esteem may despise or disappoint you. Your colleagues may conspire or lie against you. Your boss may maltreat you, and your subordinates may disrespect you.

Nevertheless, it is God’s command that you should always forgive from your heart those who wrong, hurt, spite, maltreat, betray, jilt, disappoint, persecute or offend you. It is quite easy to say you forgive someone who hurts you from your lips while your heart is still harbouring grudges, hatred, bitterness or resentment against the person…

FOLLOWING JESUS CHRIST

FOLLOWING JESUS CHRIST

Following Jesus is not something passive; rather, it is dynamic and demanding. It is not an inactive condition to assume; it requires diligence and involves taking actions. It is not a one-time event, but rather it is a lifelong commitment, a daily or continuous exercise. The Lord Jesus clearly revealed this truth to the multitudes that had come to Him.

It is quite possible to be a believer and yet not be a true disciple of Jesus Christ. The Lord Jesus pointed this out when he demanded that the Jews who had believed in Him as the Messiah should also abide in His Word and thus become His disciples indeed…

BEHOLDING CHRIST WITH UNVEILED FACE

BEHOLDING CHRIST WITH UNVEILED FACE

When you view an object through a veil, your perception, observation, or description of the object will certainly be distorted or inaccurate because you are not seeing the object as it is. Similarly, when you approach or behold God’s Word with a veiled mind, your interpretation and understanding of the Scripture will be distorted, biased and inaccurate, thereby resulting in a wrong application of God’s Word to your life and situation.

Many believers today are not being transformed increasingly into Christlikeness in their thoughts, emotions, actions or character in spite of beholding, reading, hearing, or listening to God’s Word daily or regularly. Why? Because of the veils on their minds…

KNOW WHEN TO SEND THE MULTITUDES AWAY

KNOW WHEN TO SEND THE MULTITUDES AWAY

There is nothing more rewarding and enriching than a time spent alone with God. Therefore, it is wisdom to prioritize and protect your time of personal and deep communion with God jealously. Nothing must be allowed to compete with it or to substitute for it!

Although our Lord Jesus Christ always had multitudes with varied needs to attend to every day, yet He knew when to send them away, so that He may have a personal and intimate fellowship with His Father. After ministering to and feeding the multitudes, the Lord Jesus sent them away. Not just the multitudes, but even His close disciples…

LET THE RIVERS OF LIVING WATER FLOW

LET THE RIVERS OF LIVING WATER FLOW

Self is the greatest impediment, obstacle or blockage to the constant flow of the rivers of living water from your born-again spirit to be a blessing to others. The rivers of living water in your born-again spirit are not flowing out freely and incessantly as God intended simply because you are still self-driven, self-focused, self-inclined, self-centered, self-pleasing, and self-dependent.

The rivers of living water will begin to flow out freely and unceasingly from your heart as you learn to reckon yourself dead indeed to sin and self, but alive to God in Christ Jesus. As you yield yourself increasingly to the Holy Spirit, you will see the rivers of living water flowing out increasingly from your heart to be a blessing to the people around you…

SPIRITUAL DRINK FROM SPIRITUAL ROCK

SPIRITUAL DRINK FROM SPIRITUAL ROCK

While journeying from Egypt to Canaan through the wilderness the children of Israel had their thirst quenched or satisfied twice miraculously by water from the rock. Obviously, God was using that to foreshadow His plan and provision to satisfy the thirst of all wearied souls through Christ Jesus.

The Scripture later reveals that it was not just ordinary water they drank but a spiritual drink and that the rock was not an ordinary rock but a spiritual Rock, Christ Jesus. Undoubtedly, the gracious provision of water from the rock to satisfy the thirsty children of Israel in the wilderness was a good type or representation of God’s gracious provision of everlasting life in and through Christ for all sinners…
