RESPOND WISELY TO REBUKE

RESPOND WISELY TO REBUKE

The present terrible moral and spiritual decline or degeneration that stares us in the face today in our churches is primarily due to the negligence of the people God has put in position of authority in the Church to sharply and promptly but lovingly rebuke, correct and discipline us when we stray from the path of righteousness.

It is unfortunate that many of the leaders we have in our churches today lack the boldness to look us straight in the eyes and rebuke us when we err or stray from the truth. When they should rebuke us they flatter us, when they should correct us they cheer us up, and when they should discipline us they promote us…

PREPARE THE WAY OF THE LORD

PREPARE THE WAY OF THE LORD

In ancient times it was customary for messengers, harbingers, or forerunners to be sent before the eastern kings to prepare the way for the chariots and armies of their monarchs, to proclaim their approach, to provide for them, to level the ways and to remove all impediments before them.

Similarly, when the Messiah, the King of kings and the Lord of lords, was to come into the world to redeem the fallen men John the Baptist was sent ahead of Him as the messenger or the forerunner to prepare the way of the LORD and to make His paths straight. Like John the Baptist, every born-again believer today is God-sent messenger or forerunner to prepare the way for the second coming of Jesus Christ into the world…

GOD’S RESTORATION ARMY

GOD’S RESTORATION ARMY

While David and his men went to ally themselves with Achish the King of Gath under the lords of the Philistines in battle against their brethren, the Amalekites invaded their city, Ziklag, burned it with fire and took captive all their families and carried them away (1 Sam. 30:1-3).

When you also choose to be unequally yoked with unbelievers, or to ally yourself with the devil to judge, accuse, condemn, betray, or oppose God’s children; you will become vulnerable to your enemy. Having been rejected by the lords of the Philistines, David and his men returned to Ziklag, but alas, Ziklag had been burned with fire and their wives, their sons, and their daughters had been taken captive…

STOP TAKING SIDES WITH SATAN

STOP TAKING SIDES WITH SATAN

David and his men lost their families and inheritances while they joined themselves to Achish (an unbeliever), seeking to please him. Beware of who you join yourself with! When you as a believer become unequally yoked together with unbelievers and thus conform yourself to the customs of this present evil world, you will become vulnerable to Satan’s invasion or intrusion.

Apparently, the Church today is under a heavy invasion from the devil. Strange men and women have invaded the Church with strange, carnal, demonic and damnable doctrines or teachings. Sadly, God’s Word is gradually being replaced with enticing words of men’s wisdom, religious rites, human philosophies, bogus prophecies, vain cultures or traditions of men…

BE SOBER, WATCHFUL AND PRAYERFUL

BE SOBER, WATCHFUL AND PRAYERFUL

The history is replete with men and women who had a good starting but a tragic ending. Many people who were very rich and successful in the early part of their life later died in penury and debt. Many people who rose up to a high position of honour and influence in the early part of their life later fell into disrepute.

It is very good to have a graceful starting in life, but it is far better to have a graceful ending. It is simply a tragedy to start well but not finish well in life. Therefore, you need to be sober, watchful and prayerful. The Scripture does not hide from us sad accounts of some saints of old who started out well with God in the spiritual race but who later backslid, fell out of the race, and could not finish gracefully…

RECKON YOURSELF TO BE DEAD

RECKON YOURSELF TO BE DEAD

While it is true that your sinful self has been crucified with Christ on the cross, thereby making you to be dead to sin, yet if you fail to always reckon, consider, regard, or count yourself dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ, you will still continue to struggle with sins and fall into temptations.

A dead man does not struggle with sin “Because he who is dead is free from sin.” (Rom. 6:7 BBE). Therefore, if you will always reckon, deem, judge, count, or take into account that you are dead to sin through the body of Christ; you will be free from sin and be able to deny yourself. What does it mean to deny yourself?
