The standard of love for the Old Testament saints is “self.” The Law simply commands, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” (Lev. 19:18 NKJV). So, the measure, depth or height of love expected under the Law is your love for yourself!
On the contrary, the standard or measure of love expected of the New Testament saints is infinitely higher than that required of the saints of old. It is expected of you to love, esteem and care for others much more than you love, esteem and care for yourself. This is what is new in Jesus’ commandment of love in comparison with the old commandment of love!
It is possible to be living in the Spirit and yet not walking in the Spirit. Many believers today are only living in the Spirit, but not walking in the Spirit or walking according to the Spirit.
Living in the Spirit alone does not guarantee a victorious Christian living. It takes walking in the Spirit or walking by the Spirit to appropriate, experience and enjoy all the benefits of the finished work of Jesus. This is why the Scripture commands, “Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.” (Gal. 5:16 NKJV)…
Any time you speak, pray or act in fear; you sin against God. Unfortunately, many prayers we offer in our churches today are motivated by fear of our enemies. Sadly, many believers and churches today are being controlled, dominated and influenced by fear of death, witches or demons.
Your victory over fear starts with you recognizing fear as a disobedience to God’s command that you should not fear. Any of your actions that is not motivated by faith is a sin in God’s sight; “for whatever is not from faith is sin.” (Rom. 14:23 NKJV). A believer who is operating in fear is indirectly saying that God’s promises or words are untrue and unreliable…
In pure worship, all affection and attention are towards the Lord; nothing else matters. It is not pure worship when you are still mindful of yourself and your situation. It is not pure worship to the Lord when your focus is partly on others and partly on the Lord. In pure worship, the preeminence of Jesus above all things is acknowledged, celebrated and proclaimed.
Like Mary, when your heart is overflowing with the love of Jesus, you will regard nothing as too much, costly or valuable to sacrifice to the Lord Jesus in worship, and you will not be bothered about what anybody has to say about your service or act of worship to the Lord…
Many Christians today are not living the higher, superior or supernatural life that God intended for them in Christ simply because they lack a precise and correct knowledge of who they are in Christ, what they have in Christ, and what Christ has accomplished in them and for them through His finished work.
Without a precise and correct knowledge, full discernment, or recognition of your new spiritual identity (nature, life, condition, status, position, authority, and inheritance) in Christ as a result of the New Birth experience, you will continue to think, judge, speak, live, act and walk as a mere, ordinary or natural man, who is without God’s life, nature and Spirit (1 Cor. 3:1-4)….
You cannot maximize the grace of God available to you without possessing and walking in righteousness-consciousness. Grace reigns through righteousness!
It takes you seeing yourself as righteous in Christ to appropriate the riches of God’s grace in Christ Jesus. Don’t allow the devil to continue to rob you of the riches or benefits of grace through guilt and condemnation of sin. Don’t submit to condemnation of sin from Satan!
