WEANING YOUR SOUL (Part 2)

WEANING YOUR SOUL (Part 2)

As a child grows up he needs to be weaned from the breast milk and thus from an undue attachment to his mother. Likewise, a new creation in Christ, a young believer, needs to be weaned from all his former sinful and selfish affections, passions, and attachments.

Every mother pays a price to wean her child, but the rewards outweigh the price. Similarly, the rewards or blessings of weaning your soul infinitely outweigh the sacrifices required and the efforts involved in weaning your soul. Like a weaned child, a weaned soul is always calmed, quiet, and peaceful…

WEANING YOUR SOUL (Part 1)

WEANING YOUR SOUL (Part 1)

Weaning a child who has been living on breast milk from birth could be very challenging. Babies are not so keen, eager or excited about their transition from breast milk to other sources of nourishment. It could be quite challenging and frustrating to the parents!

I watched helplessly as my wife struggled to wean our daughter when she was almost one year. My daughter did not quite like the idea, for she had become addicted to the breast milk, and perhaps to being cuddled by her mum while sucking. Even though the breast milk could hardly satisfy her any longer, yet she passionately resisted leaving the breast milk…

BRIDLE YOUR TONGUE (Part 2)

BRIDLE YOUR TONGUE (Part 2)

The human tongue is naturally a fire, a world of iniquity, evil, corrupt, boastful, unruly, and full of deadly poison (Jam. 3:6-8). Though the tongue is a little member of the body, yet it wields great power and influence over the whole body.

If your tongue is left unchecked, untamed or unbridled; it will defile you, render your faith worthless, bring condemnation upon you, and may eventually send you to hell fire (Jam. 1:26). It is therefore vitally necessary for you as a believer to constantly bring your tongue under check or control…

BRIDLE YOUR TONGUE (Part 1)

One of God’s standards for measuring your spirituality or maturity in the faith is your ability to bridle, tame or control your tongue. How you use and control your tongue speaks volume about your faith and spiritual maturity!

According to God’s Word, a perfect man is someone who does not stumble in word, someone who can bridle, tame or control his tongue. You are spiritually immature when you don’t bridle or tame your tongue! The Scripture warns that we deceive ourselves if we claim to be religious or spiritual without bridling our tongues…

THE PRICE AND PLACE OF WISDOM

THE PRICE AND PLACE OF WISDOM

God’s Wisdom is hidden in the born-again spirits of the believers. This is why one of the spiritual responsibilities of the Church stated in the Bible is to make known the manifold wisdom of God to the world and even to the principalities and powers in the heavenly places (Eph. 3:10).

Although every born-again believer has all the treasures of divine wisdom hidden is his born-again or recreated spirit, yet not all believers are appropriating, enjoying, or manifesting God’s Wisdom. How do you draw from the treasures of divine wisdom within you to handle life’s issues or challenges?

GET WISDOM

GET WISDOM

Wisdom is the principal, chief or main asset to possess in life. If you lack wisdom, you are still poor regardless of your material possessions in life. All that you may possess in life is nothing if wisdom is lacking. Solomon states, “Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding.” (Prov. 4:7 NKJV).

Why is it better to have wisdom than to have money! The Scripture reveals, “For wisdom is a defense as money is a defense, but the excellence of knowledge is that wisdom gives life to those who have it.” (Eccl. 7:12 NKJV)…
